The Week That Was: Part Deux

Howdy. So how was everyone's week?

Our heads have been down and we have been getting busy. Our seven days started with the weekend gossip which usually consists of me telling Sanoii about what I ate and watched on the television, not very interesting but when I haven't seen my wingman for two days I get a little cray-cray.

If you don't know by now the only employees at S+S are myself and Sanoii, so when it comes to putting together a range we are still quite fresh. Our new Winter Range 'Happy Campers' is coming along quite nicely. The patterns and toiles are done, the fabric selection made and now for the final products, a little photo shoot AND THEN we can finally release our Winter baby into the world! We are too excited.

Winter Moods
Wednesday came along and Sanoii and I took the afternoon off and headed into the big smoke for a lovely exhibition opening 'This Little Teapot' held at the cosy Paper Plane Gallery in Rozelle. This exhibition saw fifty fist-sized teapots done up in all their glory by some of Australia's up and coming artists. The line up included Mathew Roland, Tabitha Emma, Lauren Carney and many more fabulous artists. The exhibition is showing until May 1st, so go get your tea on and check it out.

Speaking of  Lauren Carney, last year at Brisbane Finders Keepers we met this pint sized artist and last week the postman dropped off a little something, something from her. A print which I (yes me, Six aka freckle fart from Kmart) inspired. I was so flattered that I had to order one! Yep I have myself in Carney form and I love it. So kids out there take note freckles are cool. A face without freckles is like a night with no stars. FACT! You can check her stuff here.

Last but not least you may have seen in the last blog post we had a visit from the Oh Deer Vintage folk, Rose and Michael. We had some tea and scones and talked for hours about everything and anything. We here at S+S feel like we have made some long lasting friends. YAY!

The lovely Rose + Michael
Now that week has gone and passed, I wonder what this week will bring?

The Week That Was: Part One

"Wont you take me to…. Funky Town?" Hmmm ok not Funky Town but ye' old Sydney Town?
Here at Sanoii + Six HQ we have been busy little bees. Last week was full of splendour - we took a day trip down to Sydney, posted off some custom pieces and even took time off from the sewing machines to celebrate at a party.

Sydney as always, was a riot. Our first stop was All Buttons Great and Small in Newtown. May I just say OH EM GEE the button range was intense. Wall to wall buttons and so many amazing finds. We even discovered some special little buttons for our up and coming winter range. Whoo! After being in button heaven we headed off in search of the perfect range of fabrics. After trawling lots and lots and lots of suppliers (some lovely, some not so much) we came away with a boot load of fabrics. Hooray! After a long day in the city Sanoii and I always give ourselves a treat and by treat we mean chocolate. Loads and loads of chocolate so off to Max Brenner we went. Belgium waffles, chocolate soufflĂ© and some lovely chocolate drinks and we were set for our sleepy trip back up the coast.

Last year S+S met the lovely illustrator Renee-Anne and when she asked for a custom swimsuit we just couldn't say no! A few deatils of colour and style and we got pattern making, one fitting and a few minor adjustments and we were finished. The swimsuit is a based on our beloved 'Petal' cotton one-piece, with a few tweaks to the straps and fabric to make this truly unique for dear Renee.

Last on our agenda was a party for Oh Deer Vintage to launch their beautiful new online boutique. We donned our faux furs, our prettiest dresses and our shiniest hair and headed to a fun filled night of new friends and delicious champagne. We were so grateful to be apart of their big moment and we had such a great time, I even forgot to instagram that night (I blame the champagne hehe)!

And now to do it all again!
