The Good, The Beige, And The Ugly. The DIY Story.

Bonjour!

How are you lovelies? So Sanoii aka Sam usually writes on our blog but I thought I would take it hostage for the day.
Im going to take you back to a few years ago when my lover moved in with me. In hand he bought his beloved CD collection, his bodyboards, and a lounge bigger than our apartment. This lounge was super comfy, and yeah we've had some good sleeps together but the colour just didn't do her justice. What colour was it you ask?? It was boring B E I G E. In my mind beige = no thought when it comes to decorating.
A few days ago I read that beige is God’s favourite colour. Does this mean when I leave this world and go to “Heaven” I will be in decorating Hell? Don’t get me twisted, beige is ok if you are a Burberry trench or a pair Jeffrey Campbell Lita’s, just not ok if you are my girl lounge.

Good Beige,

The elusive lounge before
Bad Beige
A few years on, one baby later, and countless stains it was time. With a pair of thread snips in hand, I attacked the lounge. I found an amazing Rust Orange and Cream print, which I used to cover the cushions. For the base of the lounge I used a plain Rust Orange just to break the pattern. After a few days she was done, and I couldn’t be happier.

A few things I have learnt from this DIY is 1. I can cover a lounge, whoo to me! 2. That my daughter uses the lounge as a pencil case and 3. That beige is best left for clothing.

Ta-da!
Next some contrasting cushions and an ottoman

Till next time,
Six

P.S If there is a God please pretty please redecorate now.
