Mmmm my cafe treat looks instagram-ingly delicious. Wow that tree looks instagram-ably handsome. 

My name is Six and I'm an instagramaholic. 

For you out there who have no idea what I'm tripping about Instagram is a F R E E iPhone app that is rad. In a bubble, Instagram is for taking photos, adding filters to give that old vintage feel, and then sharing them with sites like Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and Tumblr. You can follow other Instagramers, do some liking and post comments. I like it, it's fun. 

But wait there's more. I have just discovered more Instagram fun to be had. Wouldn't it be ace if you could make stickers out of your Instagram photos? Well guys you can! Instagoodies and Artflakes lets you do just that. Eeeepp!

I must be off to check my instagram do some work. Serious Sanoii + Six work.

The weeks are flying by too fast. I swear I blinked last Monday and all of a sudden here I am Sunday evening. I wish this whole time and momentum thing would just give us a break already. So again I am late with this post. So shoot me! It's been a busy and productive week, lot's of patternmaking and toiling going on and all that jazz. So here it is kiddies, our week in pictures... plus a day or two :)

Have you read The Man Repeller?

Honest question, have you? If not you are missing out and I sincerely urge you to do so post haste! If you are already a fan, then may I just congratulate you on your fine choice of cyber reading. 


Noone likes to think of themselves as a man repeller and not many people would openly say they repel men (although by some fashion choices, some people are doing so unbeknownst). The Man Repeller is not your average fashion blog. HALLELUJAH! Of course there is the obligatory outfit post with a twirl here and a twirl there, that comes with every fashion blog. But ladies and gentleman don't you for a second be fooled into a false sense of security. Oh no this is no ordinary outfit post on an ordinary fashion blog. The Man Repeller's outfit posts are specifically targeted at the most modern of fashion trends or rather fashion pieces, hot of the runways that we as women give our heart and soul to possess and these said pieces are a massive bane to our male counterparts existence. Enter The Man Repeller's definition of, well, a Man Repeller:

MAN·RE·PELL·ER¹  [MAHN-REE-PELLER]

–noun

outfitting oneself in a sartorially offensive way that will result in repelling members of the opposite sex. Such garments include but are not limited to harem pants, boyfriend jeans, overalls (see: human repelling), shoulder pads, full length jumpsuits, jewelry that resembles violent weaponry and clogs.

We here at S+S HQ love The Man Repeller, for one she is a kook. Secondly she is a breath of fresh air in an industry that takes themselves waaaay too seriously. And thirdly she is a fountain of knowledge - did you know brogues and clogs are both considered man repelling footwear??? They are staples in the S+S wardrobe! But that won't deter us, oh no, we will wear them with our turbans, outlandish prints and wayward shirts, our bird headpieces made from talented friends and our leopard print faux fur jackets. And we will wear them with pride.

Still not convinced? You should probably just watch the video. The lovely lady behind The Man Repeller was asked by a very talented designer, who goes by the name of Kimberly Taylor, to style her latest lookbook. On one condition. She had to style five man repelling looks in contrast to the not so man repelling other looks. It's great. Just watch. 

7 days, 7 weird and wonderful pictures: Part 2.

Oh dear, did we have some fun this week. It started off with sickness. Nothing too scary, just your average bout of in between season flu. Which is more of a nuisance than anything. It was such a busy week and it flew by without us having time to catch our breath or blow our nose! It is the middle of March already can you believe it? So we have been tucked away in our little workshop preparing for winter and boy have we got some new and glorious fabrics coming out of our ears! We are also at that stage in the construction process, that although we love it, we actually do loath it! Ok loath is a strong word, but when you are trying to pattern make or toile some beautifully detailed creations it can become tedious. However, whinging aside the end result is absolutely brilliant and we couldn't ask for anything more. Whilst preparing for winter (Six is predicting snow on the Central Coast this year!) we are also juggling a new collaboration which we will be announcing very soon which is just too exciting and we cannot wait for it to unfold. Now don't fret lovelies, while there is talk of winter it is still a couple of months away and you can most definitely still pick up lots of pretty summer styles via our online boutique. 

Ok so there are actually 8 images this week as I am a couple of days behind with this little blog. Alas, better late than never. We had the fits of the giggles this week and could not resist posting some images that we thought were so funny. I don't know if anyone else did? But it definitely amused us for a few hours!

Thursday struck us with a bout of flu. We recovered with lots of tea and a juice detox!

Saturday was too cute for words. 

Everybody loves a red head and everybody loves Ron Weasley. Sunday, you would be lying if you didn't.

Weird is good. Don't ever change. Monday is the perfect day for weird.

7 days, 7 weird and wonderful pictures: Part 1.

If you follow us on Facebook you will know that almost everyday we post a picture on our wall. We like to think of them as our pictures of the day and usually pick images that are either really funny, inspirational or somehow sum up our pleasant existence. This simple task started off because we had come across so many hilarious images on the interweb, we thought it only necessary that we share with our friends. We also realised it was a way more entertaining use of the wall/status post on Facebook. It may come as a shock to some of you but there are still alot of delightful people out there that use the internet and do not have Facebook. Blashemy? No, more like smart. So we thought it only fair (and also quite fun) to do a weekly post of our favourite daily pictures for all to see. Hence, '7 days, 7 weird and wonderful pictures!' Enjoy.

I don't believe an explanation is required. Adding text to a photo will make the most mundane picture seem freaking hilarious. Hello Thursday!

It's hard to even fathom a winter range when it's about a trillion degrees outside. But we will do our best. . . or maybe we will just go for a dip in the sea.

Seriousness is overrated.

One of my favourite blogs is Mucho Mucho Bueno Bueno, not only is it a fun read, but the girls over there do not take themselves too seriously (a trait which is severely lacking in this world these days). Oh and they have rad hair tips! Whilst perusing their delightful words this weekend I came across one of their newest entries which was actually taken from another blog source Refinery 29. If you are an avid follower of fashion blogs and easily offended look away now. It definitely had me giggling. 

Definitely brings specific fashion bloggers to mind doesn't it?

Storyboards.

Hello.

Aren't the weeks just speeding by? Already it is August and whilst it is still icy here in the southern hemisphere we can see signs of spring all about the place. It's brilliant, slowly colours are appearing everywhere, the days are longer and the general vibe among almost everyone is getting much cheerier.

We are amidst our S/S range development and unfortunately we should be much further along then what we actually are. It's rather unsettling when you think we have Drop 2 for 'Chalk + Cheese' due out next month and also the COFA Awfully Nice Market creeping up on us on September 4th in Sydney. But never fear lovelies we are the masters of chaos and thrive under intense pressure. So we promise to deliver everything on time as planned. 

In case you've missed the references to "drops" in our blogs, we are very ambitious girls and when planning for our spring/summer range our ideas can sometimes become out of control. We always want to make so many pieces, swimwear and clothing and everything in between and it just becomes too much to handle. To combat this, we decided this season to release our S/S range in three drops. The first was launched at the Brisbane Finders Keepers in June and was our first complete clothing range. The second drop is due out in September and is entirely made up of bathers and finally the third which is due out in December is a mixed bag of sorts, and will probably include everything we need/want for summer! Hopefully we can fit everything in!

Finally we aren't the type of girls to toot our own horn or give away too much. But with all the excitement (mainly ours) over Drop 2, we thought we would give you kids a sneak peak at what we have planned.

Since our lovely little boutique is looking all pretty and colourful due to the arrival of our brilliant new spring range, we thought we might give the old bloggy blog blog a bit of a spruce, a bit of a spring clean (only half way through winter and we are already pining for the warmth. Dear Jack Frost we do love you, honest!?) and a fresh lick of paint..... ah virtual paint that is. So we apologise for the off kiltered-ness of our dear blog and we promise to have it all sparkly and new soon!
