Post Brisbane Post
A very belated post Brisbane post. We are so behind in our blogging it is not funny. It is such a crazy time of year we hardly have time to scratch ourselves let alone do anything fun and creative so we do apologise profusely for our lack of blog time.
Finders Keepers Brisbane was 3 weeks ago. Can you believe it!?! But we had such a hoot and met so many wonderful characters we thought it necessary to blog about all the crazy funny things that happened. So here is Sanoii + Six's top 10 of Brisbane (in no particular order)!
1. Got milk?
The day before the markets began we were all allowed to set up our stalls. Six and I awoke early to run some errands, pick up some potted colour and finish swimwear prep. We were fortunate enough to finish all our tasks in time for a quick lunch break (something unheard of in S+S land). We thought we would treat ourselves to some sushi. Strolling down Coolangatta on our way to Sushi Train Six couldn't help but notice a group of older women staring and pointing at her. Looking down she realised her wrap dress had come unwrapped and she was in fact flashing one whole boob to all of Griffith Street. Six is fortunate enough to have voluptuous lady lumps and sports some of the pretties bras ever, she quickly pulled her dress across and pretended as if it was the most normal thing in the world. Poor Six this is not the first of her embarrassing under garments stories.

2. Yummy treats.
We were spoiled with new friends at Brisbane. One delightful lady came to us on Sunday morning with a lovely little box in hand. After very graciously introducing herself she then gave us some of the tastiest homemade strawberry and chocolate macaroons ever. She had given them to us as a thank you present for helping her out a few weeks prior with a particular piece she was after. Her act of generosity had me all teary and we were and still are, so incredibly grateful. We are in this business for the love of it and nothing else, but it is always so nice to be taken aback by someone else's gratitude for something we consider simply part of the job. Here's to you Amber! Amber also has a yummy blog full of delectable treats which you can check out here.
3. New friends.
Finder Keepers events are so much fun. However, they are also hectic, overwhelming, frustrating and exhausting. Everything is go go go for weeks, sometimes months prior, that you get to the markets practically hanging by a stitch, so it's very rare that we get a chance to chat to other stall holders. We were so happy in Brisbane to get a chance to chat to and meet so many lovely and helpful new friends. Some that we have already met but never get a chance to chat too and some that are new faces to us. Thanks to Hollie, Brook, Grace and Melinda for stopping by to say hello!
4. Best Stall.
By far the best stall of the market was the ever smiley Lauren Carney. Her stall was so colourful and fun. And it was so so so fun to see her artwork on more than just prints and postcards. There were bags and brooches and little diaries and what not. It was all just so lovely! Check out her lovely website and all her beautiful work here.
5. Urban Outfitters Blog.
As the crowds began to fade Sunday afternoon and we were slowly falling into a giggly state of delirium Six came across the Urban Outfitters blog. A friend of mine (who is currently living it up in the states) had contacted me to say she had seen some Sanoii + Six love on the Urban Outfitters blog. Six and I are crazy about Urban Outfitters so we headed straight over to their blog only to see a little write up about Finders Keepers Brisbane with a little shout out to Courtney Brims, Speakr Box and Sanoli + Six. Urban Outfitters is an Uh-mazing store located pretty much everywhere except Australia. Do not fret though pretties you can purchase everything online with very modest shipping prices. Excitement plus (even if they did spell our name wrong)!!!
6. Food glorious food!
Just the song I was singing whilst packing up our stall famished, only to trip over in my uber-comfortable-but-not-packing-practical swedish hasbeens. On a side note the Gold Coast and Brisbane have pretty darn good places to eat!
7. Kooks.
If you know us or read our blog you will know that we are not the most sophisticated of people. We are kooks* and we don't try to disguise this at all. An example of this is us always and I mean ALWAYS embarrassing ourselves in situations where you really want to act your smoothest. Enter Brooke, co-founder of Finders Keepers, on Sunday afternoon. Just as the ever lovely Brooke walks in, Vienna who is resting her heels on an inconspicuous bucket under our table, slips and practically smacks her face on said table. Smooth. Not quite. Funny. Hell yes!
*Please note numbers 1 and 6 as evidence to above mentioned kookiness.
8. Musaq.
Some people are surprised to know that we road trip the entire 12 hours up to Brisbane. Most stall holders fly, but we have so much stuff and we are usually still finishing pieces that driving is really our only option. Not that we mind because this expanse of time allows us to riffle through our pods and find some music we had long forgotten about. Pretty much the best part of a road trip is the music so we thought we would share some of the love we chose to listen to. Three albums that made a rather long and arduous drive bearable were - Sticks and Stones by New Found Glory (dear friend Amanda would be proud), Take a Vacation! by The Young Veins and wait for it. . . Justified by Justin Timberlake. Yes the last one is odd but after 9 hours of straight driving does Justin really need to be explained?
9. Eggs.
Life is better with eggs. And after a hectic few weeks it was nice to chill out in Byron Bay and have some eggs. Oh and Baskin Robbins. We are severely deprived of Baskin Robbin outlets in NSW!
10. New friends.
Yes we've already mentioned it, but we made a so many lovely new friends it really makes the whole experience worth all the stress. Number 10, which is last but definitely not least, goes out to Jill and her wacky family. Thanks for your Harry inspired facespace comment it really made our day!
So there you have it. Our random and very belated top ten of Finders Keepers Brisbane. Of course we could go on, but really it would just be ramblings and I think we've bored you enough!

Eeeeeep!
We are buzzing with excitement for our road trip to the sunshine state. We adore Queensland. After all it is where "Sanoii + Six - the musings" was finally translated into "Sanoii + Six - the real deal!" So you can understand why we have a soft spot for our northern friends. We have been so very busy sewing and doing just about anything that you can imagine that goes into a market stall this week it has just been madness and we are sooo organised (shock horror) this time around we even have signage (YES SIGNAGE!) as well as fabric remnants to sell to any crafty lass or lads that have a knack for creating things that to Six and I are truly unimaginable, but you kids seem to amaze us with! But that's not all - of course we have a bucket load of bathers and the remaining bits and bobs of Drop 1, basically our car is jam packed full of goodness.
In case you have been living under a rock (no judgement here, rocks are rad especially pet rocks) or have drawn a blind eye to all our pestering this weekend we are partaking in The Finders Keepers Market at the Old Museum in Brisbane and everyone is invited - doors open at 10am! WOOT and TOOT!
To all you lovely folk who can't make it or are in other (and I'm sure just as fabulous) cities and states our delightful little online store will be closed from Thursday 4th till Tuesday 9th November. Tis rather sad I know, alas we don't want anyone missing out whilst we are away traipsing up the east coast.
Anywho, that is all from us for now. We will try our best to do some blogging whilst we are away. Please, please pop by and say hello if you are in or around Brisbane. Oh and if you could all please start your anti rain dance now that would muchly appreciated.
See you soon lovelies!

Spoilt rotten.
So my birthday was 10 days ago yet I am still reaping the love that my brilliant friends have bestowed upon me. Not only did we venture out this past weekend (something that is somewhat of a rarity in Six and my lives) but my delightful birthday present from my other half arrived in the post today. Now when I say my other half obviously I'm referring to Six, because incase you haven't met us we are joined at the hip. . . figuratively speaking. Anywhooo, they arrived! And by they I mean the all natural, all Swedish, all fabulous shoes we have been dying to get our paws on for oh I don't know like a year! Blog world let me introduce you to the new swedes in our lives -
And of course the shoe connoisseur herself had to get a pair too, because really how could you resist? So when you see us in Brisbane next weekend we will most definitely be sporting this little beauties!
HOORAY FOR BIRTHDAYS AND RAD FRIENDS!

Finders Keepers Brisbane
Aaaaaahhhh I have not blogged in what feels like forever . . . Ok so it's only been 8 days but it feels like forever as so much stuff has been happening and it has just been madness. Not to mention it was my day of birth the other day and Six did such a rad job of spoiling me like crazy and popping her blogging cherry. It's just all been very eventful!
Anywho, in a little over two weeks time the Finders Keepers craziness will be rolling into Brisbane. WOOP WOOP! And we will be firmly strapped to that bandwagon. Pretty please do pop by and say hello. There is going to be so much going on, not to mention the rest of the market!!! (Insert canned laughter here). We have been planning like crazy for this event for months now and we hope our little stall is going to be jam packed to the rim -
Keep you peepers peeled for an outside umbrella inside and our lovely little fake grass and please do introduce yourselves and say hello!
Hope to see you all there.

It's been a very busy week.
Ah we have not blogged in 9 days, that is just blasphemous! We have so much to write and yet we are lost for words right now. Things have been busy busy busy at S+S HQ. We have been sewing like mad in anticipation of the COFA Awfully Nice Market (if you haven't got the details head to here or here). We are excited to have loads of pretty new fabrics in lots of your favourite (and previously sold out) styles and for some particular pieces of Drop 1, it will be the last time you will be able to purchase them. It will also be the first weekend of Spring - HOORAY! We are crossing all of our fingers, toes and other appendages that the weather is just as lovely as it has been all this week, full of sunshine and balmy days.
Now, not only have we been sewing busily for the market but we have also been getting all crafty and what not and designing for our much anticipated swimwear drop of Chalk + Cheese, which will be out late September. We are very excited about this aspect of the range. We started life as a small swimwear label, creating pretty and peculiar bathers is something we are truly passionate about and well there has been a little bit of 'outside' buzz surrounding this drop of the range so that just makes us more giddy and eager to please. We have got big plans for these pieces, so stay tuned!
Thats all for today, just an update on the goings on and the ongoings.
Hope we didn't bore you.
And we promise to write again soon.
Au revoir pretties.

The Finders Keepers Brisbane was a hoot!
After 2 very, very intense weeks of madness, 18 hour sewing days, rampant dashes to spotlight, copious amounts of sugar and sewing thread E V E R Y W H E R E, we finally hopped on the road up the coast for what we had planned to be a very cruisey market weekend. With the car packed to the brim we arrived safe on the Gold Coast, to warm beds and cups of tea. After a much needed nights rest we were up at dawn on Friday to put the finishing touches on our range. After another long day of hem sewing, hand sewing, printing and putting Six's family to work we went to bed nervous and anxious as to what the weekend would bring. Saturday bought with it our mad tetris method to pack the car and not crush the clothes whilst doing so, finding the Old Museum and finding something presentable to wear. Our weeks of frantic sewing had been productive, however, finding time to sew ourselves some sweet threads from the new range had eluded us. So early Saturday morning was designated to teaming sample pieces with vintage items we just happened to have with us. The next two days were mental. Yes thats right mental! Forgotten hangers, thousands upon thousands of people, lovely stall neighbours, yummy lunches, sneaky purchases and loads of fun! We were so fortunate to meet so many lovely and friendly people and we are incredibly flattered by the response we received. Many of you missed out on some of our sold out pieces, which we hope to remake and have up in the store very soon.
Thank you to everyone who came out and said hello, we hope to be up in Brisbane in the near future.
For those of you that missed out on the madness that was Finders Keepers Brisbane here's a few pics before the craziness hit.

It's oh so very soon!
Ten days and counting kids and boy have we been busy. An impromptu photo shoot last week (with the always lovely Brendan who has a rad blog here), countless minutes, hours and days of cutting and sewing and cups of tea, buying zips, button and all kinds of notions and tidbits, not to mention planning our much anticipated road trip to the sunshine state! The Finders Keepers Brisbane is just around the corner. We will be bringing our fun and craziness to Bris-vegas next weekend on the 26th and 27th June, located at the Old Museum in Bowen Hills.
We always look forward to market days, we get incredibly excited, overwhelmed and stressed, but when it comes to the crunch we love nothing more than talking with all you lovelies!
Just a sneak peek of the UH-MAZING shots Brendan took for us last week, more up soon spoon!

Lunchtime. . .
With 17 days left until Brisbane Finders Keepers, life at S+S HQ is a little bit hectic. With our feet heavy on the treadle trying to pump out as many pretty pieces as we can, we try and take solace for half an hour a day, eat some food and watch some trash. Today's viewing. . . the colourful world of Heathers, full of croquet, monacles and murder. Just delightful!

Finders Keepers, Losers Weepers.
There'll be no losers this June, cos Sanoii+Six will be hitting up the ever eventful, always crazy Brisbane Finders Keepers. WOOP WOOP! It will be our first time selling our wares back in ye' old Bris-vegas town since December 2007. So start saving your pennies my lovelies and come pop by to say hello. We might even bake treats and Six will seduce you with her swoon worthy renditions of classic Mo-Town tunes!!!

Chalk+Cheese, Chalk+Cheese!
Here is a first look at our newest range due to be released at the upcoming Finders Keepers Market in Brisbane this June! Aptley titled 'Chalk+Cheese', we got all inspired and what not, by the very differences that make us Sanoii+Six! We decided to design half the range each and come together with pieces that were entirely different, yet echoed our S+S aesthetic. We were surprised and relieved to find that we are so very much in sync (and not the 'Bye, Bye, Bye' kind of way) and attuned to the S+S peace of mind. We are so so so excited about all our new fabrics. Expect to see lots of shades of blues, random dashes of crazy hues, tentacles and some weird perforated twill that we are just salivating over! This is our favourite range so far and we hope you kids like it as much as we do...
This is just a teaser too, theres plenty more where these bad boys came from!

A big thankyou again and again, a thousand times over, to the so very talented and ever so humble Emma and to the most beautiful and fun loving models two girls with crazy clothes could ask for Jess, Sarah and Kris!

The Finders Keepers.

How exciting. We hope to showcase not only our usual favourite cotton bathers but a wide selection of other pretty things that we have been dabbling in over the past few months. Expect to see lots of colours, florals and outrageous prints!
Stay tuned for more 'finders' tidbits.
