The ever delightful Red Riders are playing a FREE show this Wednesday night at the Beach Road Hotel in Bondi. It is going to be rad. We will be there with our dancing shoes and you really should too.

Bombay Bicycle Club.
On repeat today whilst I sew a bundle of 'Water Skirts' in a brilliant new fabric (which hasn't been released yet and which we have happily called 'Black Bird') is Bombay Bicycle Club. Introduced to me by brother dear, they are good fun and I really haven't gotten tired of listening to them. I'm not going to compare them to anything, because well, I hate when somebody says "this band kind of sounds like this band and this band mixed together." Because I then get a little confused and disheartened when hearing said band. So I'm just going to say these kids are brilliant or as Six would say "wicked bad" and you should most definately have a listen.

The Black Keys.
I am usually late to jump on the music bandwagon. If it wasn't for friends I would be utterly oblivious to new music and all that it beholds. I blame it on my hermit like habits and the sweet comfort in listening and re-listening to old favourites. As mentioned in previous blogs I get stuck in music ruts. So I was more than thrilled when a friend introduced me to The Black Keys. Yes I know, I am a lagger. Yes I know they have been around for nearly a decade and YES I KNOW they have something like 7 or so albums. But hey better late than never! On first listen I was hooked and their album has been on repeat since I was introduced. I would more than likely chew tin foil just to see them live. I caught wind of their latest offering 'Brothers', this past week and well lets just say it is feeding my addiction quite nicely.

Sean Lennon + Charlotte Kemp Muhl.
Effortlessly stylish in the best kind of quirky, son of an icon and well, their sound is just dreamy. . .
Listen here.

Maximo mo mo....
Last Friday night as a celebration of Six's upcoming brithday, we trekked into the city to watch one of our all time favourite bands...... MAXIMO PARK!!!
Oh my do they put on a show! It was the second time for us to see them play and they were equally amazing this time as they were the last. Paul Smith has uncontrollable energy that had us dancing like crazy through the whole set.

Isnt he lovely...

Music is one such vice.
Of course we have our usual favourites - songs that we love, bands that we dare not mention outside of the sweatshop and of course music that is timeless and gets you dancing even in the dullest of hours.
Here at sanoii+six HQ we have a penchant for motown, so for this post we dedicate to the man who found in us, the energy to not only sew a sweet load of shizit but who kept us dancing and in hysterical fits of giggles......
This ones for you Stevie!
